A new study has revealed the Glastonbury headliners most likely to clash with England's last 16 tie, and it's not good news for fans of Coldplay.

A whopping 200,000 people are expected to descend on Glastonbury this week to see some of the world’s most iconic music stars and bands perform.

But Glastonbury festival-goers this year will have a major decision to make, as it’s been revealed that sets from some of the biggest names at the festival are due to clash with England’s Euro 2024 last 16 tie.

That’s according to football betting tips, predictions and news site Footy Accumulators, who analysed England’s potential route to the final, and compared the fixture details with Glastonbury set times, to reveal the acts most likely to clash.

With England on course to qualify from the group stage of Euro 2024 in Germany, some fans will be left with an impossible choice to make. Either sacrifice supporting the Three Lions, or miss a major headliner at Glastonbury.

If England beat Slovenia and qualify as group winners as expected, then the Three Lions will face their next opponent in the last 16 on Sunday, June 30 at 5pm.

The Glastonbury set times show that this fixture would clash with Janelle Monáe, who will be performing on the Pyramid Stage. The American singer’s set starts at 17:45, which means fans could catch the start of Monáe’s set and then watch England’s second half.

Similarly, Avril Lavigne is due to perform at 18:00 on the Other Stage, which means fans could back the England boys during the first half, but would be forced to miss the second half if they wanted to see the ‘Sk8er Boi’ singer’s set.

England fans would also have to sacrifice the tail end of Shania Twain's legend slot set if they wanted to catch the England match, as Twain is due to finish her set around 5pm, which is when England will be kicking off in Germany.

Should England finish in second place in Group C, they will face the host nation Germany on Saturday, June 29 at 8pm.

The Glastonbury 2024 schedule shows that fans will miss British rapper Little Simz, who will be performing on the Pyramid Stage at 7.45pm.

Fans of The Streets will likely be asking ‘Has It Come to This?’, as they also have a tricky decision to make since the Birmingham rap group’s set begins at 8.30pm on the Other Stage.

It is also worth considering the possibility of extra-time and penalties, which can add around an extra hour to a game.

If this happens on the Saturday, then the England match would also eat into the start of Saturday night headliner Coldplay’s set, who are due to start at 9.45pm on the Pyramid Stage.

Meanwhile, dance giants Disclosure’s set on the Other Stage at 10.30pm could also clash with the England game.

Since the festival confirmed it will not air England’s last 16 fixture, Three Lions fans attending Glastonbury Festival who are adamant they must watch the game will have to rely on a steady mobile service connection to stream the match - creating more problems for footy-loving festival-goers this weekend.
