For Barnsley, former Rovers winger Luke Thomas could line up against his former club after battling his way into the first-team.

Thomas was in-and-out of Joey Barton’s team last season but was a highly thought of figure after changing the managers perception.

Thomas assisted Josh Benson for their goal against Derby after starting the match in the ten role. James Norwood who was a reported target in the summer could also line up against Rovers. Former Bristol City defender Robbie Cundy is also in the Tykes’ ranks but has found himself having to settle for a place on the substitute’s bench.

Summer signing Nicky Cadden is touch and go for selection but both Michael Helik and Herbie Kane remain sidelined.
