Heavy rain, mist and fog is forecast for Bristol later this week with more settled conditions expected at the weekend.

Mist and fog is expected to form in Bristol on Thursday, according to the Met Office.

The mist will arrive just as Tropical Storm Wanda moves from out over the Atlantic Ocean across the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom.

US meteorologist Stacy-Ann Gooden said: “Wanda is the latest storm to form in the Atlantic. It’s the last name on the list. But that doesn’t mean it’ll be the final one.

“If another forms, a supplemental list will be used. The tropical storm will head towards Ireland and isn’t a threat to the U.S.”
